To give parents more time to bond with a new child, mothers and fathers are eligible to take 10 weeks of parental leave, paid at 100% of your base salary.
Eligibility: Paid parental leave benefits are for U.S.-based employees who have expanded their family through the birth, adoption or fostering of a child.
Birth mothers are eligible for 10 weeks of paid parental leave in addition to any necessary birth-related medical leave, which usually covers six weeks of an employee’s full salary, for a total of up to 16 weeks of leave paid at 100%.
Adoption Assistance provides a $5,000 per adoption reimbursement, up to a lifetime maximum of $15,000, of eligible adoption expenses, including agency, legal and placement fees. The annual tax exclusion limit is $15,000.

Work Benefits
We offer an annual awards program, called Arch Achieve, in which employees nominate their peers and then determine the winners. It’s an award intended to recognize stellar contributions that benefit our customers and/or the company while upholding Arch’s Values. Annual winners receive either an allotment of ACGL stock or a cash grant, lunch with a member of the senior executive team and a crystal award.
Employees can refer others to join the Arch experience. Depending on the position, you will receive $3,000 or $5,000 for a referral who is hired.
Management or employees involved in interviewing or selection of the applicant, and Human Resources employees engaged in recruiting and selection are not eligible for the referral award.
Use tax-free dollars for your commute. You can pay for qualified commuting and/or parking expenses with automatic, before-tax payroll deductions. There are two types of accounts:
Transit Account: Contribute up to $315 per month on a before-tax basis to pay for public transportation costs.
Parking Account: You may contribute up to $315 per month on a before-tax basis to pay for parking costs.
Benefits to Balance Your Life
Work-Life Balance
Time away from work is important and Arch offers generous paid time off (PTO) programs beginning at 20 days per year.
Arch and its employees strive to make a difference. We invest in our communities and encourage each other to give our time and talent in meaningful ways. To help our employees give back to the causes they are passionate about, we offer two days of VTO annually to volunteer with eligible charitable organizations.
In 2022, we launched the Arch Cares Leave Share Program. Leave Share offers U.S.-based employees the opportunity to donate accrued, unused PTO to eligible colleagues who have exhausted all other available paid leave while dealing with a major medical emergency or major disaster.
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including online access to health and wellness information, resources, tools and other features. You and your family can get confidential counseling for:
- Stress and marital/family conflicts or major life changes.
- Critical incidents (e.g., serious illness, natural disasters, etc.).
- Legal and financial consultations.
- COVID-19 resources.
Arch matches eligible contributions to qualified charitable organizations on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to a maximum aggregate amount of $25,000 per employee per calendar year. A participant’s charitable contribution must be made directly by the participant to an organization that is recognized by the IRS as a charitable, religious, scientific, educational or other organization described in Section 501(c)(3).
Arch will reimburse you after completion of an approved course or exam, based on the final grade you receive.
